The acquisition strengthens Volue’s core data capabilities by enabling PowerTSM®, HAKOM’s purpose-built time series management (TSM) technology to be integrated as a foundation for future software solutions within its ecosystem.
Time series data underpins virtually every process in the energy sector, from forecasting and trading to grid operations and asset optimisation, making scalable, reliable, and high-performance data management fundamental to the industry’s digital future.
HAKOM delivers a dedicated API for time series data management, enabling power producers and grid operators to efficiently store, process and manage market, asset, and metering data. Its solutions address one of the most complex and critical challenges faced by energy companies and software providers alike: handling vast volumes of time series data with accuracy, speed and flexibility.
Founded in 1991 by Thomas Hasleder and Stefan Komornyik, HAKOM has built a strong reputation as a trusted and innovative partner to the energy industry. The company serves more than 100 customers across 15 countries.
“Our strong focus has always centred on managing time series data reliably, efficiently and at scale. Joining Volue allows us to take this expertise to the next level, combining our specialised technology with a global energy software leader. Together, we can accelerate innovation and deliver even greater value to customers across international markets,” says Stefan Komornyik, CEO of HAKOM.
“We understand that time series data is the backbone of the energy industry, and scalable data management is essential to everything we build at Volue. By acquiring HAKOM, we are strengthening a critical part of our technology foundation and investing in capabilities that will support the next generation of our energy software suite,” says Stephan Sieber, CEO of Volue.
“HAKOM brings a highly specialised team, a proven product, and decades of domain expertise. Together, we are building a stronger product offering for the future, enabling us to develop scalable, cloud-ready solutions that meet the increasing data demands of the energy transition.”
“As energy systems become more data-driven, more volatile, and more complex, Volue continues to invest in the right technology and deep expertise needed to ensure sustainable growth,” says Benjamin Golding, CEO of Arendals Fossekompani.
