The Expert Committee was appointed by the Government in August 2021 with a mandate to assess whether the current overall framework conditions contribute to a well-functioning market for economically profitable, climate-friendly investments.

Our main task according to the mandate is to assess the frameworks and the market for climate-friendly investments and long value chains based on the use of renewable resources in Norway. Some of the areas we will look into, for example, are how the current framework fuction in order to achieve Norway's climate targets, what it takes to promote investments in renewable energy, are there aspects of the financial market that influence climate-friendly investments to some extent and what competitive advantages and opportunities lie in our extensive value chains for the use of renewable energy, Saltvedt says.

The Committee submits its report by the end of June 2022.
