The building will be located at Longum Næringspark, near the E18 north of Arendal, where Arendals Fossekompani owns a 170-acre property. Construction will begin in the fall of 2024, and the building is planned to be taken over in the spring of 2026.

“For AFK Eiendom, this is an exciting partnership that can contribute to attractive growth in our region. We are pleased to develop the project for Kitron at an important location for production and industry,” says Tom Krusche Pedersen, Property Manager for AFK Eiendom.

“Kitron is an exciting, forward-thinking business. We are pleased that they have chosen to partner with AFK Property to expand their local operations,” says Benjamin Golding, CEO at Arendals Fossekompani.

Increased Capacity for Kitron
“There is growth and high activity at Kitron in Arendal, and we believe the activity will increase further in the coming years. We are simply outgrowing our current premises. Now we have the opportunity to help design the right building for our needs. This allows us to continue growing here in Arendal where Kitron has roots dating back to the 1960s. We are very happy about this,” says Heine Østby, Managing Director of Kitron Norway.

Kitron's operations in the area are currently spread across a 7,300-square-meter facility in Kilsund, which Kitron owns, on 4,000 square meters of leased premises at Stoa. When the new premises are ready, the operations at Stoa will move to Longum, while the facility in Kilsund will continue as before.

Veidekke Chosen as General Contractor

“We thank our partners for the trust and for arriving to solutions that allow us to now start the planning and construction of the production building for Kitron on this excellent site. All involved parties have contributed with valuable input, and we now look forward to continuing the good collaboration into the next phase,” says District Manager, Atle Monan at Veidekke Bygg Agder.
