This year’s conference was held from 23 to 26 March and was attended by members of Arendals Fossekompani’s leadership team and NSSLGlobal management.
“At Arendals Fossekompani, we actively work to stay informed for the long term, both politically and technically, and our participation in this event is highly valuable. It’s important to gauge the landscape, understand who the users are, and learn from key players in the field so we can form an independent assessment. This kind of insight can’t be gathered second-hand,” says Ann-Kari Heier, EVP at Arendals Fossekompani and NSSLGlobal Board Member.
Key insights from SATShow 2026
The three-day event was dominated by three key buzzwords:
- In light of the current global situation, sovereign and resilient networks are required more than ever, as countries seek full control over their communications and data.
- Development of dual-use systems is accelerating rapidly, with the convergence between civilian and military applications becoming even more pronounced in 2026.
- There is growing interest in direct-to-device (D2D) satellite connectivity, which enables regular smartphones to connect directly to LEO satellites, providing coverage in remote areas without terrestrial mobile networks.
These themes directly impact NSSLGlobal’s core competencies by shaping demand for secure, integrated, and advanced satellite communication solutions across government, defence, maritime, and commercial markets. Staying close to developments in these three areas is critical to the company and its owners ability to maintain and develop competitive, future-ready solutions.
Benefits of attendance
For members of NSSLGlobal’s management team, participation in conversations around the core themes was essential.
“Attending this conference gave us a conducive environment and the time to reflect and engage in the critical conversations needed to support NSSLGlobal’s strong track record of sustainable value creation,” says Heier.
