Ettestøl appointed Head of Sustainability
Ingunn Ettestøl is the new Head of Sustainability at Arendals Fossekompani.
“Sustainability has been on the agenda of Arendals Fossekompani since 1896, when the company was formed to produce renewable hydro power. Today we have a green portfolio of companies. A dedicated Head of Sustainability will further our efforts within ESG (E = Environment, S = Social and G = Governance), and our reporting and information to the market on how we operate in alignment with carefully selected sustainable development goals,” says Ørjan Svanevik, CEO of Arendals Fossekompani.
Ingunn Ettestøl (47) has a doctoral degree within electrical power from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and a background as director of strategy and analysis at Enova and division director for wind power at Agder Energi. She has been in Arendals Fossekompani since 2017.
“I look forward to getting started with an important job for a company that is already very focused on sustainability. We can always improve and we must first and foremost systematize and report the work in all parts of the organization and through the value chain. We see that continuous improvement and visibility of the work within sustainability has value for customers, employees, suppliers and the market,” says Ettestøl.
Arendals Fossekompani has defined three of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals (SDG) as particularly relevant to its entire portfolio of companies: SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
