“From day one, Arendals Fossekompani has been a constructive partner and supporter of Arendalsuka. This three-year agreement contributes to economic stability for Norway’s most important meeting place,” says Robert Cornels Nordli, Mayor of Arendal and Chair of Arendalsuka’s Council.

On Wednesday he signed the agreement that makes Arendal Fossekompani (AFK) one of Arendalsuka’s 18 sponsors.

“We are very pleased to have AFK on board as a sponsor. AFK is by far the largest company in the region, and makes several important contributions to developing the region. Job creation is of course one contribution, but AFK also has a social commitment,” says Nordli.

CEO of Arendals Fossekompani, Jarle Roth says the agreement with Arendalsuka was easy to reach.

“Arendalsuka has evolved in to a fantastic event, which creates a lot of positivity in and around Arendal. We will of course contribute, not only financially, but also in the form of advice and input, and with our own events. We have high ambitions for 2019,” says Roth.

In 2012, Arendalsuka was established as a political meeting place, modeled by the Swedish Almedalsveckan, with 50 events. Since then the week has developed rapidly. In 2018, Arendalsuka offered 1101 events – 300 more than the previous year. It is estimated that more than 70,000 people in politics, business and the voluntary sector will come to Arendal during five hectic days in mid-August.
